Do you have an innovation that could help vulnerable people, the elderly or those self-isolating in their homes?

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the South West Academic Health Science Network (SW AHSN) has funding available for ready-to-use products and services that can support vulnerable adults, their carers and families across three key areas:

Mental health & wellbeing

  • Improving access to peer-to-peer communities
  • Supporting self-management and wellbeing
  • Improving the wellbeing of families and carers

Delivering and monitoring care and support in the home

  • Using technology to facilitate the delivery of care in the home and in care settings
  • Projects that address the health and wellbeing needs of vulnerable and socially excluded groups

Coordinating and mobilising social action

  • Support the use of digital platforms to facilitate effective access to local community action and social prescribing interventions

Apply now

Voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs), health and care teams, and small businesses across Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are invited to apply for grants of up to £6,000 to support faster adoption of these targeted innovations, as well as others that are relevant to the COVID-19 epidemic.

Innovators with a solution that is ready for spread as well as adopters who are looking to implement an innovation are eligible to apply.

There will be three application rounds in May, June and July 2020.

Applications for the first round are currently open. Visit our Innovation Exchange Pathfinder applications system to apply.

The first round of the fund will close at 9am on 18 May, 2020.
