EMAHSN collaborated with Eastern Academic Health Science Network to hold an Innovation Exchange in October 2019, aimed at addressing some of the challenges that managing the NHS and wider public estate presents.
Digital enhancement of mental health services
EMAHSN and West Midlands Academic Health Science Network conducted a collaborative Innovation Exchange in the iCentrum in Birmingham on Thursday 5 December 2019. The Innovation Exchange aimed to showcase digital innovations to address key challenges in four key areas which would support the delivery of the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme.
Nu Vision eye treatments offer an alternative to eye surgery by using preserved amniotic membrane (membrane from placentas) to treat damaged corneas and promote healing. The products are unique, as the material is preserved making it easy to store and accessible to hospitals. The company is in the process of expanding into using their product to facilitate the treatment of chronic wounds, such as diabetic foot ulcers.
Transforming ADHD Diagnosis in Children - QbTest
Following innovation exchange work focussing on mental health, EMAHSN supported QbTest a diagnostic tool which measures the core indicator symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). On average, QbTest can reduce time to diagnosis by 153 days and provide 20% cost reductions.
