We remain responsive to the diverse challenges within our local healthcare environment. We work closely with local Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and NHS providers to help them to ramp up the pace and scale of change by matching innovations to identified problems. We also work with innovators from SMEs, academics and individuals that present solutions to unmet needs in the NHS. Please see below some of our work.
Hospital Episode Statistics data service
Wessex AHSN has access to a platform that allows our staff to query and interrogate Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) data. HES data is a database containing details of all admissions, ED attendances and outpatient appointments at NHS hospitals in England. Access to this data allows us to quantify the existing scale and costs of specific patient pathways, which can be used by innovators as a lever for change to demonstrate the improvements they can bring to the NHS.
Improving health outcomes is at the heart of everything we do. If you have an innovation that can add value to existing services or offer completely new ways of working, and would benefit from tailored guidance from our experts, please get in touch with us.
