Developed by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, this secure messaging service has been rolled out across the country with EMAHSN support.
ChatHealth was co-designed with young people and school nurses and allows service users to have conversations with health professionals via text, providing quick, confidential advice on issues from stress to sexual health.
Texting engages teenagers less comfortable speaking face to face about issues they may fine embarrassing, especially young males.

How did the Innovation Exchange help?
EMAHSN have supported ChatHealth in various ways including funding, advice and mentoring:
The funding to ensure the ongoing and sustainable development of ChatHealth was crucial to our success. In addition, the access to mentoring support was hugely valuable; the team at EMAHSN were just at the end of the phone if we hit any issues and needed guidance or reassurance.
